Firefighter Kirk Fernitz

Is currently deployed to Iraq on a 12 month mission serving as as a Lieutenant Colonel with the 304th Civil Affairs Brigade. 

 Kirk's responcibilities include three tasks: (1) work with and mitigate problems with
the "Sons of Iraq"; (2) support the construction and equipping of
Vo-Tech Schools throughout Iraq, and (3) train selected Iraqi Army units
in counterinsurgency operations.
