Fire at the Garden Spot Bowling Alley
On May 4th, Station 5-10 was dispatched to Garden Spot Bowling Alley. Chief 5-10-1 and Chief 5-10-2 arrived on location with a working fire with fire through the roof. Truck 5-10 arrived on location and setup for ladder pipe operations with the crew attempting entry at the front door.

March 14th, 2011 CO call in the Borough
On March 14th, Truck 510 was dispatched to Jackson Street for a Dwelling Call. Cheif 510 arrived shortly after with homeowner stating audibile alarm sounded. Truck 510 (Lt. Amos Fisher) arrived and crews checked environment and found no issues. Truck back in service in 20 minutes. March13th, 2011 MVA Involving Horse and Buggy On December 29th, Engine 510-2 and Squad 510, were dispatched to a an MVA Involving a Horse and Buggy. Chief 510 arrived on the scene with minor vehicle accident. No injuries to occupants of the buggy or vehicle involved.
February 19st, 2011 Dwelling Fire (Chimney)
On February 19th, Truck 5-10 and Tanker 5-10 was dispatched to Paradise Township for a building fire reported to be in the chimney. The truck setup to the chimney and FF Weichler and LT Amos Fisher cleaned chimney.
Janruary 21t, 2011 4 Alarm Fire in the Lancaster City
On January 21st, Truck 5-10 was dispatched to Queen Street in Lancaster for a building fire. The truck laid 5 inch from the hydrant, and flowed the master stream. Squad 5-10 came in to assist with hose removal. The crews were available at about 4 am.
December 29th, 2010 MVA Involving Horse and Buggy On December 29th, Engine 5-10-2 and Squad 5-10, were dispatched to a an MVA Involving a Horse and Buggy. Chief 5-10-2 arrived on the scene with horse down in the middle of the road and a vehicle with front-end damage. Chief 5-10-2 requested a vet, but the horse was deceased upon further investigation. No injuries to occupants of the buggy or vehicle involved.
December 26th, 2010 Tire Fire in Strasburg Township On Sunday December 26th at 07:20, County dispatched Engine 5-10-01, 5-10-02, Tanker 5-10, Tanker 5-9, Engine 5-4-1,Engine 5-9-1 , and Engine 5-9-5 to a Brush Fire on Lime Valley Road. Used tires were involved in the fire which caused extensive calls to county dispatch. Units were available 10:06.
December 22nd, 2010 LODD: 2 Firefighters Die, 14 Injured in Chicago Fire Collapse
On Wednesday December 22nd, Chicago Breaking News Center report that 2 firefighter have passed away in a building collapse. They were fighting a warehouse fire when the roof collapsed injuring 14 and killing two. The irony of this day is 100 years ago 21 firefighters died in a stockyard fire. The stockyard fire was the largest loss of firefighters until September 11th, 2001. For more information please click here. December 20th, 2010 Brush Fire in Lampeter On December 20th, Tanker 5-10, was dispatched to a reported outbuilding fire. When Station 5-4 arrived, it was confirmed that it was a woods fire, with close proximity to the house.
December 18th, 2010 Building Fire in Paradise Township
On December 18th, Tanker 5-10, Engine 5-10-1, 5-10-2, and Truck 5-10 was dispatched to a reported at the old Wagon Wheel in Paradise PA. The truck was used in master stream operations. On the tip in the above picture is FF Scott Weichler and FF Tyler Furlow. Thanks to Lenny Weitzel for the picture.
September 8th, 2010 3 Alarm Dwelling Fire in West Lampeter Township On Wednesday September 8th, Tanker 5-10, Engine 5-10-1, 5-10-2, and Truck 5-10 was dispatched to a reported Dwelling Fire at 7 Resch Lane, Lancaster PA. Tanker 5-10 was dispatched on the 1st alarm, the engines on the second, and the Truck on the third. August 31th, 2010 2 Alarm Barn Fire in Manor Township On August 31st, Tanker 5-10 was dispatched on the second alarm to Manor Township for a large hay barn on fire. FF. Weichler was the driver, and FF. Wetzell was the officer of the apparatus.
August 9th, 2010 Building Fire at Red Caboose Hotel On Monday July 31th at 04:36 Station 5-10 was dispatched to a reported caboose fire in Strasburg Township. Chief 5-10 (Wentz) arrived on location with smoke showing. 1 Caboose was damaged. Tanker 5-10, Engine 5-10-2, Truck 5-10 responded.
July 26th, 2010 Tanker 5-10 Dispatched to Witmer House Fire On Monday July 31th at 07:06 Tanker 5-10 was dispatched to a house fire in Witmer. Lt. 5-10-2 (Amos Fisher) was the officer, and FF. Bauer was the Driver. Upon arrival command requested Bird-In-Hand Tanker to setup Nurse Tanker Operations and Tanker 5-10 connected into them. Tanker 5-10 was in service about 45 mins. July 26th, 2010 Coordinated Fire Attacks Training On Monday July 26th at 19:00 station 5-10 had a Coordinated Fire Attack class at Ike Fisher's House. Chief Hoseman Hutchinson led the training. Much fun was had by all. Next Monday August 2nd at 19:00 station 5-10 will host a Coordinated Fire Attack class for the surrounding companies. July 18th, 2010 2 MVA's in 24 Hours At 01:29 County Dispatched to a Class 1 MVA on May Post Office near Hilltop Road. Chief 5-10 (Wentz) arrived and took command. At 3:51 County dispatched Station 5-10 to a class 2 call involving 3 vehicles. Chief 5-10 (Wentz) had command and Chief 5-10-2 (Stoltzfus) assisted. Engine 5-10-2, Truck 5-10 and Squad 5-10 responded as well as members of the Fire Police. 2 patients were transported to LGH. June 28th, 2010 Truck Runs CO Alarm in Eden Township At 10:56 County Dispatched a CO Alarm at 2899 White Oak Road in Eden Township. Lt. 5-10-1 (I. Fisher) and crew investigated and found a gas leak. June 25th, 2010 2 MVA for the Day At 14:46 County Dispatch reported a Class 1 MVA involving 3 cars in the area of Turkey Hill. The accident was minor, and no patients were transported. Engine 5-10-2 and Squad 5-10 responded to the scene. The volunteers were in service about an hour. At 21:27 County Dispatch reported a Class 1 MVA with unknown injuries in the area of 119 West Main Street. June 11th, 2010 2 MVA for the Day On April 11th, 2010 at 10:49 County Dispatch reported a Class 2 MVA involving 2 cars at Hartman Bridge and North Star. 3 Patients were transported to the hospital. As Engine 5-10-2 and Squad 5-10 was preparing to clear the scene, County Dispatch requested Engine 5-10-1 to respond to a Class 1 MVA in Strasburg Boro at the Square involving 2 cars. 1 Patient was transported. June 5th, 2010 2 Trophies for Station 5-10 On April 10th, 2010 Strasburg Fire participated in the Annual LCFA Convention..This year it was located at Bareville Fire Company. Truck 5-10 and Engine 5-10-1 both participated and won trophies. Truck 5-10 led by Lt. Ivan Fisher took home a 1st Place trophy and Engine 5-10-1 led by Lt. Amos Fisher took home a second place trophy. Station 5-10 won the same trophies at the convention last year in Quarryville. A good time was had by all.
